Ottawa Icebreaker soccer tournament donates $1,500 to GEERG

Update to April 15 news article

The 2008 edition of the Ottawa Icebreaker has donated $1,500 to GEERG. We'd like to extend our warmest thanks to all 378 participating teams and to the tournament president, Mr. George Bennett.

The donation will be used on a Greenland shark tagging expedition in the name of the 6800 children and team staff members that participated in this yearly event which supports the conservation of northern Canadian animal species.

In addition, the 2008 tournament awarded 2,284 medals and close to 7,000 patches bearing a Greenland shark designed with the help of GEERG (see below) and the official booklet contained a two-page article on Somniosus microcephalus.
