Welcome to the Shark Observation Network
The Shark Observation Network provides a means for divers, marine biologists and naturalists around the world to enter data about shark sightings, including date, time, location, water temperature and other environmental variables. Membership is free for individuals and organisations and all of the data are permanently accessible to all users.
The Shark Observation Network serves as a database for the following organisations:
Greenland Shark and Elasmobranch Education and Research Group
Quebec Shark Observatory
Reserva de Sian Ka'an (Tulum, Mexico)
Sevengill Shark Project (San Diego, California)
Shark Identification Network (Grand Manan Whale & Seabird Research Station
Walker Bay Watch: Project Shark Count (South African Shark Conservancy)

The Shark Observation Network currently has 207 registered members who have posted a total of 852 observations. There are currently 118 shark and elasmobranch species files on this website.
